Invitation

Dear Colleague:

The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the "First International Congress of hydro climatology to be held in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia between the 24 to August 28, 2009. This event responds to the urgent need to foster a forum for the exchange and dissemination of new scientific research results related to hydro climate issues.

This event is the First national and international Congress hydroclimatic area sponsored by Bolivia. This meeting is the highest expression of scientific knowledge for water and climate, which will serve for participants to provide a balanced perspective on the relationship between water resources, climate and technical & scientific tools. It is also intended for discussing innovative thinking on ways to face hydroclimatology issues related. At the same time, It aims to provide participants an analytical framework that will allow them to examine the various dimensions of water resources and climate at an international context, informing as well on available tools and methods that can deal with assessment, management, planning and education of water resources and climate around the world.

We look forward to having your active participation and attendance, sincerely.

Background

Water is essential for the development of all human activity. Therefore, policies to manage water resources based on scientific knowledge developed by research work must be implemented.

Planning for the use of global water resources requires a deep understanding on the factors that affect and modulate climate, as well as its evolution and the simulation of future scenarios.

herefore climate change represents an important line of research, as a result of developing strategies planning and tools for interrelations study among macro climate processes and regional behavior, with water availability.

Faced these challenges, the Scientific and Organizing Committee, promotes the meeting of "1st INTERNATIONAL HYDROCLIMATOLOGY CONGRESS" to foster the exchange of experiences and research results with high scientific support in the area, responding to the demand our societies expect from the academic and scientific field.
